St. Albert Painters Guild
Samantha Williams-Chapelsky
Join Samantha Williams-Chapelsky for a plein air painting workshop designed to strengthen both observation and technique in the outdoor environment. This class invites artists to work directly from life, capturing the shifting light, atmosphere, and color relationships that define the landscape.
Participants will be guided through approaches to simplifying complex scenes, establishing strong compositions, and accurately interpreting value and color on location using acrylic paints and texture mediums. Emphasis will be placed on efficient setup, time management in changing conditions, and mark-making strategies that translate immediacy and energy into the finished work. Plein air painting methods will be explored through a demonstration and individualized feedback.
Suitable for a range of experience levels, this workshop encourages both technical development and personal expression. Artists will leave with practical tools for working outdoors confidently, as well as a deeper understanding of how to translate natural environments into compelling painted studies.
